ABSTRACT RAPTURE were founded in May 2001 by Drittt, Nol, Steve E. and Steve R.
During 9 months they wrote many songs in order to play concerts in Luxembourg and the nearby surroundings. Their first gig was played at the Marignan in Athus, Belgium.
As critics were positive, ABSTRACT RAPTURE kept playing concerts with bands from the luxembourgish scene.
Two years later they started recording their first demo called "Asphyxiation". Though the sound was not very satisfactory (the CD was recorded in the cellar where they rehearsed) it sold very well and gave them the opportunity to organize more gigs.
Towards the end of May 2003, Steve E. and Steve R. decided to leave the country. Rol then joined the band on bass and Spit joined the band in the december of that same year. His style immediately matched with the band and already two weeks later, the "Raptors" played their firstgig in this new line-up at the Rox-bar in the Grund, Luxembourg. The bar got overcrowded as the people really appreciated the stuff they heard.
Many concerts were to follow and step by step, ABSTRACT RAPTURE became well-known in the metal-scene of Luxembourg. During 2004 they played a lot of gigs which confirmed their iron will and their determination for playing metal.
In July 2005 they entered the TidalWave-studios in Karlsruhe, Germany to record their EP "Dead End Entry" which was released at the end of that year.
Meanwhile, Yogy, the guitar-player of the band Scarred joined ABSTRACT RAPTURE as full-time lead and rhythm-guitarist in order to support Nol and to bring new influences in the band.
In march 2007, ABSTRACT RAPTURE won the "Wacken Metal Battle" in Luxembourg which made them head to Wacken in August 2007 to make the metal world experience their unique wall of massive metal sound.
Still in August, ABSTRACT RAPTURE hook up with MADDENING MEDIA who straightly sent them to the TidalWave studios to record their full-length album "Democadencia".
