Details:
Adrian Bourgeois believes in you. He believes that you exist somewhere out there and he even believes that you are reading this artist biography right now which is why he is writing it. Adrian Bourgeois is an old fashion sort of artist in that the songs he writes are inspired by moss covered monuments, soldiers with umbrellas, merry-go-rounds that come to life, and reading other peoples minds. He believes that music itself as a sound and an essence cannot change the world but music that is written about love and magic, water and fiction, war and childhood, can indeed change the world, as well as the ocean that moves the world and the tiny drops of water that create the ocean. This is why he believes in you. You are the ocean. Adrian Bourgeois believes in creating drops of water because even the ocean gets thirsty sometimes.

Stylistically compared to such pop music pillars as the Beatles and the Beach Boys as well as more modern songwriters such as Elliott Smith and Rufus Wainwright, Adrian Bourgeois may be the best musical argument out there against post-modernism, making such a case by creating music that is does not alienate but instead welcomes everyone to wrap their minds around his insatiable pop melodies, intricately arranged harmonies, mulitiple layered productions, and thoughtfully hopeful lyrics. Bourgeois has spent a life-time honing his craft, learning drums, piano and guitar by the age of four and working his way through the world of music, one garage band, high school talent show, and noisy coffee shop gig at a time, all of which has so far paid off in big ways. At the age of twenty he is a recipient of the 2007 Sacramento Area Music Critics'' Choice Award for best songwriter and was a popular choice nominee for best pop artist in Sacramento in 2006. In May of 2007, Bourgeois picked up the grand prize for music in the national OurStage contest which led to features in CMJ Magazine and Relix Magazine. Bourgeois’ self-titled debut album, released on the east-coast label C-Side Records and three years in the making, has been called “absolutely brilliant” by Sacramento News and Review music columnist Jackson Griffith. John Meyer of Boston, MA’s WERS, writes, “There''s as much C.S. Lewis as there is Simon and Garfunkel in this Californian''s airy, dreamy folk-laced sound....He''s a wide-eyed six-year-old boy trapped inside an twenty-something pop-genius''s body.” Following in the footsteps of musical predecessors such as Paul McCartney, Todd Rundgren, and Ben Folds, Bourgeois played and sang most of the parts on the album himself, with a little help from some notable friends such as 77''s and Lost Dogs front man and lead guitarist Mike Roe, Agent Ribbons chanteuse Natalie Gordon, and Sammie award winning folk artist Justin Farren. Bourgeois also co-produced and arranged the album along with David Houston (Jackie Greene, Public Nuisance), Ralph Stover (Chris Webster), and Brent Bourgeois (Bourgeois Tagg, and Adrian''s dad). “Simply put [Bourgeois’ songs]…are among the finest post-Beatles pop tunes I’ve ever heard,” raved Griffith. “One day, in the not-too-distant future, Adrian Bourgeois will be an influential force in pop music…"
