MP3 Amanda Somerville - Blue Nothing

From sultry to powerful with a modern Euro-flavor, she''s a singer/songwriter who''s been roughed up at the edges with a razor blade, painted over the scars with makeup and is now sweetly taking revenge out on the microphone.

5 MP3 Songs
POP: Pop Underground, POP: Folky Pop

Details:
"By reputation, I''m a metal-diva, but not at all by definition. I''m a pop-rock singer-songwriter who grew up with a folk musician father and a hippie rock-jazz mother and have made a name for myself in the European metal scene. I''ve had a pretty eclectic range of influences and that definitely comes out in the music I make. If names are what you''re after, then perhaps a bit like Fiona Apple, Rachael Yamagata, Jewel, Chantal Kreviazuk, Dido, Jem, Cat Power, Sheryl Crow, Sarah McLachlan, Evanescence, Moloko, Annie Lennox, Kelly Clarkson & Sade thrown into the blender and whipped into a strange, frothy and eclectic concoction that goes down easy. I''m not trying to reinvent the wheel, but I’ve sanded and stained it, carved scrollwork into it and added glitter here and there. Voilà!

OK, now on to the more serious, official stuff. Enjoy!

xx
Amanda"

Singer-songwriter with a razorblade edge.

In a business where image often overshadows substance, Amanda Somerville gives the industry CPR with a breath of sincerity through music that is so real, it''s goosebump-inducing. The windows to this songwriter''s soul are her songs, which are ambient and groovy, yet extremely radio-friendly. Combining heart and soul with hit songwriting, you''re bound to be moved.

Originally - and still - from Michigan, Amanda has worked primarily in Germany and the Netherlands since 2000. Since then she has independently sold over 7,000 CDs of her solo work and gained thousands of fans all over the world. Being a one-woman team mainly occupied with studio work, that''s no small feat. She is currently engaged in both studio and live work in Europe, has been confirmed for the Spring 2008 USA / Canada tour with Epica, a world tour Summer 2008 with Avantasia and will be releasing her latest solo album, "Windows" Summer 2008.
