Details:
The journey began in 1997 for the three ladies currently know as C 3 (Chozen). The group consists of Diane Pittman of Ebnezer Baptist Church (Rev. Campbell), Kimberly Worley of Mt. Pleasant AME Zion Church (Rev. Harrison Branch), and Felicia McLean-Williams of Holy Swamp Baptist Church (Rev. Rosco Smith). From 1997 to 2004, the group had many names that just didn''t seem to fit their purpose. During 2004. the ladies were going by the name "DENIED STONE," which demonstrated how denied they felt in every sense of the word. Faced with troubles in their personal lives, friendships, relationships, and sisterhood, they were gradually being shaped and molded for their destinies. After many trials and tribulations, the group realized that they had been "chosen" and ordained by God. ARTISTS: DIANE PITTMAN, singing since the age of five comes from a family of singers. Diane began singing in the church. She later joined a program for youth in Lumberton, NC, that eventually became the Youth''s Self Improvement Community Choir under the direction of Gregory Matthews. All three ladies (Diane, Felicia, and Kim), were members of the youth chior. Years later, Diane relocated to New Jersey and she became acquainted with the Garvin brothers of Gamen Entertainment. Unknowingly, Felicia and Kim were signed with Gamen Entertainment in New York and needed a soprano for their group, For Love. G.E. contacted Diane, and she agreed to sing with the two ladies. Now the three ladies known as C 3 are together again creating exceptional music for the Lord. KIMBERLY WORLEY, known by family and friends for her inspiring poetry and songs had been singing since the age of eight. Kimberly enjoyed singing so much, that as the years went by, she performed with serveral gospel groups and choirs. While others began to notice her captivating voice, she found inspiration in singers like The Clark Sisters, La Shun Pace, and Patti Labelle. After graduating from college, Kimberly gradually began to enjoy the talent that she loved so much during her youth. And with no regrets Kimberly firmly states, "The journey hasn''t always been easy, but it was all worth it." FELICIA MCLEAN-WILLIAMS, as early as eight years old, began performing with the gospel quartet group, "The Tiny Tots." Felicia is well aquainted with performing and singing. "There was never a moment around the house when you wouldn''t hear the phenomenal sounds of Felicia''s voice," her mother says. Felicia is no stranger to the arts: her prior enrollment at the Givens Perfoming Arts Center at the University of North Carolina-Pembroke increased her motivation tremendously. By the time she was in middle school, she had been a part of countless performances. Nevertheless, Felicia continued to enhance her talent by participating in several choirs and ensembles throughout the East Coast. Inspired by Tramaine Hawkins, the Truthettes, and The Clark Sisters, Felicia has always known that she was called to minister music to the masses. MISSION: Getting up and telling everybody about the goodness of God is C 3''s top priority. The ladies have also put together a health and vitality program with the American Cancer Society. C 3 takes great pride in writing and ministering music that has a purpose. "God should be your main focus," is one of the key messages being conveyed by C 3. PERFORMANCES: "That No Good Woman" written by David Peyton: special vocal guest for A.C.S. South Atlantic Region Staff Conference (The beginning of a National Tour with the American Cancer Society), Women''s Empowerment 2004; VBLC Live Recording; serveral Minitries throughout the East Coast. The Amundo Hancock Show; Special guest and opening act for Kirk Franklin Freddie Jackson, Melisa Morgan, Selina Johnson, Dwele, New Birth, and others. They appeared on TV One''s The Gospel of Music with Jeff Majors; performed at the Lamplighter Awards Show sponsored by Radio One and performed at the Gospel Heritage Conference on the Elder Vikki Johnson''s "Girl Talk".
