City Breathing is a Brooklyn-based, 3 piece ambient indie rock band that brings together post rock (Explosions in the Sky, Eluvium, Sigur Ros) and experimental indie pop (Broken Social Scene, Yo La Tengo, Death Cab for Cutie).
Recently signed to Roses and Hello Recordings, City Breathing has just finished recording their debut, "Look How It''s Snowing Upwards, Look How They Move Towards Heaven", released in March 2008.
City Breathing was formed in Brooklyn by Arun Antonyraj and Marwan Kanafani in the winter of 2005. They started out tinkering with multiple delay pedals, long songs, and melancholy vocals in the coziness of an apartment in Prospect Heights. A few demos were passed around, catching the ears of Roses and Hello Recordings who signed the band in 2006.
With the addition of multi-instrumentalist, Ron Tucker, the trio started writing what would become "Look How It''s Snowing Upwards, Look How They Move Towards Heaven," the band''s debut.
Developing a dynamic live show that incorporates sequencers and loop stations, City Breathing will be touring the Midwest and playing New York-area shows for most of 2008.
