It all began in December of 2000. Four Men Walking was conceived around the songwriting of Joel Schultz. The band came out strong in the spring of 2001 playing several acoustic based shows and releasing the LIVE cd that debuted the band''s sound as an original force in the Houston area. Landing an opening gig with BLUE OCTOBER in July of 2001 allowed FMW to emerge as a true rock-based band, building on its acoustic beginnings. In late 2001, FMW released the OUTTA MY HEAD EP that played on college radio and better represented the band''s sound. 2002 began a rebuilding phase for Four Men Walking. Adding a new drummer in April, rewriting several songs, and adding a whole new line-up of adrenaline packed rock songs, FMW was once again reinvented. In Early 2003 FMW returned to the studio to record their first studio LP, THE LIFE WE HAVE TO LIVE. THE LIFE WE HAVE TO LIVE is the first true account of the band''s sound. Staying true to the band''s live sound, THE LIFE WE HAVE TO LIVE delivers both the power and intricacy of the band''s music, as well as strong poetic lyrics that question people''s perception. The music of Four Men Walking is lyrically based dynamic rock. Songs such as the powerful YOU''LL SEE, which speaks of society''s tendency to be caught up in itself and not see the bigger picture, or MIND''S EYE, that deals with the way we perceive what the life we have lived is all about. After three years, Four Men Walking is just getting better and better with no end in sight. With chemistry and passion, Four Men Walking has defined themselves as a premier rock band, and nothing but great things lie ahead.

JOEL SCHULTZ (guitars and vocals) Joel began writing songs at the age of 13. Teaching himself guitar, Joel created an original style that defines both his playing and singing. Before Four Men Walking, Joel Played in Little City Halls and Normal. After playing acoustic shows around Houston in 2000 Joel decided to start a new project that became Four Men Walking.
TIM SCHULTZ (bass guitar) Tim is the corner stone of the Four Men Walking sound, developing his own style to accent the drive of the band''s music. Tim prides himself on his live performance. Losing himself in the music, Tim becomes another person on stage and provides energy that FMW fans have come to expect.
TERRANCE BALLARD (drums) Terrance has played drums around the world. Playing through college in a Jazz band, and with his former band Chapel Tuesday, Terrance developed an original hard-hitting style. With Four Men Walking, Terrance has discovered his rock-edge and fills the music with complexity and drive. With jazz roots and a multi-genre approach, Terrance completes Four Men Walking.
