"Jazzed and Glad" contains a wide variety of jazz stylings, Contemporary, Latin,Funk, Smooth,and Gospel jazz. Memorable melodies, songs that groove, make ya want to dance and celebrate, as well as quiet inspirational jazz ballads of thankfulness - are all included! A delightful smorgasborg of jazz flavors!!
9 out of the 10 tracks on "Jazzed and Glad" were written by Arivett. Joining David on this CD were Saxophonists Larry Cangelosi,Greg Vail,and George Furlow as well as trumpeter Keith Woods and guitarist Ric Flauding. All Keyboards, Bass, and Drums were played and programmed by David as well.
David has written music for television, radio jingles, production libraries and he has produced and/or performed on many recordings, including jazz, gospel, blues, worship music, and choral music. Piano and Keyboards are David''s main instruments. In addition, David is a superb vocalist, arranger and clinician.
In 2002 David recorded and produced, "Island Fun" a tropical jazz-flavored jazz CD which has received rave reviews! Other favorites are "Keyboard Meditations", and "Prayerful Meditations", which contain David''s recordings of his beautiful piano, keyboard, and scoring skills.
David has also spent many years perfroming and directing music, worship, and choirs in churches. Another major highlight in David''s discography is the CD he producedin 1991, - a "live" worship CD with choir and orchestra "Exuberant Praise" that has thrilled and touched the lives of thousands!
David is also founder of the Christian Jazz Artists Network. Organized in 2002 the CJA promotes Christian Jazz Artists, their music, and their faith. David has compiled 2 Christian Jazz CD''s CD compilation of, "jazzed up" arrangements of classic hymns!
He is also actively involved in celebrating the gift of music and creativity in churches, concerts, and workshops. David directs and performs with the group, "Fresh Fire" a Christian Vocal group who sing in a wide variety of styles.
He has just completed a keyboard instruction book, "Jazz Yer Blues" which contains a series of lessons for taking the blues basics and learning how to turn it into jazz.
Also completed is David''s "Jazzed In Church" series of songs arrangements by David as well. His publishing company "Songs Of David" also publishes both worship and choral music (over 100 original worship and choral songs!)
