Don Evangelino Murayay
Born in Cajamarca in the northern Peruvian Andes to a peasant family, the then young Evangelino inherited the vocation to become a curandero (healer) from his grandfather. But as a growing child between family and farm, his interest had not yet been awakened towards the teachings and practices of his healer grandfather and his plants.
In his adolescence, he left the Andean highlands to enter into the jungle, the Peruvian Amazon, in search of work and new frontiers. He became passionate about archaeology and participated in expeditions searching for clues to the puzzles of Peru’s many ancient cultures.
While in the jungle he met a woman healer, and this curandera tried to make him understand that underneath his passion there was a hidden power. After some time, she initiated him in the way of the San Pedro, opening the doorway to a path of intense exploration of inner worlds and spaces. It was in this road that he met a physician who worked with the Ayahuasca plant and the Dieta. He received this new initiation, which led him to master healers Don Wilfredo Tuamana, Don Aquilino Chujandama, Don Solon Tello and Don Guillermo Ojanama. He spent many years of apprenticeship with these great masters, receiving their wisdom and experience, until he found his own path, his own teacher.
For more than twenty years he has traveled this path of effort, search and toil, helping and instructing people from all walks of life in the art of self knowledge through the Dieta and responsible use of the Plants of Wisdom.
Don Evangelino’s work has taken him beyond the frontiers of his native Peru, awakening and guiding numerous spiritual beings to consciously locate themselves in the currents of existence here on earth.

Nació en Cajamarca, en la sierra norte de los Andes Peruanos, en una familia de campesinos. Heredó la vocación al oficio de curandero de su abuelo. Pero en su temprana niñez, que transcurrió entre el seno familiar y el cultivo de la tierra, la inquietud por el curanderismo y las plantas sanadoras no había despertado todavía.
En plena adolescencia, abandonó la sierra y se internó en la selva de la Amazonia Peruana. El joven Evangelino buscaba trabajo y nuevos horizontes.
Pronto se apasionó por la arqueología, y participó en expediciones en búsqueda de las claves a los misterios de las antiguas civilizaciones del Perú.
Allí en la selva conoció a una curandera, que trató de hacerle entender que bajo su pasión yacían poderes por descubrirse. Pero Evangelino no entendía. Un tiempo después, ella lo inició en el camino del San Pedro, que le abrió las puertas a una intensa exploración de mundos y dimensiones internas. En este camino, se encontró con un médico que trabajaba con la Ayahuasca y la práctica de la Dieta. Pronto se inició en el sendero de esta planta de conocimiento, que le llevó a los maestros Don Wilfredo Tuamana, Don Aquilino Chujandama, Don Solon Tello y Don Guillermo Ojanama. Tras muchos años de intenso aprendizaje con estos expertos maestros, recibiendo su sabiduría y experiencia, finalmente encontró su propio sendero, su propio maestro.
Por más de veinte años ha caminado este sendero de esfuerzo, investigación y trabajo, ayudando e instruyendo a personas en el arte de conocerse a sí mismas a través de la Dieta y el uso responsible de las Plantas de Conocimiento.
El trabajo de Don Evangelino le ha llevado más allá de las fronteras de su nativo Perú, despertando y guiando a numerosos seres espirituales a ubicarse concientemente en las corrientes de la existencia aquí en la tierra.
