The Foundation Band
The Foundation Band is a jazz fusion group. They are based in Northern California. Their work is partly sponsored by the Sam Allen Foundation, a 501c non-profit corporation.
Personnel:
Dr. John Allen: Marysville, CA. Composer, percussionist; Plays piano and synthesizers, percussion instruments. He was introduced to jazz at a very young age by his father, Sam Allen, a pianist who performed with Dizzy Gillespie, Josephine Baker, Stuff Smith and others in the 30''s developing the rudiments of the bebop jazz style. John Allen''s music is very funky with a very laid back, Afro-Cuban feel. It is very melodic, peaceful and not at all pretentious. This is John''s second recording. The first CD Dreamworld, caught the attention of Billboard magazine which gave it honorable mention in the annual song contest. John is a retired dentist and also performs regularly with the Yuba College jazz ensemble. He is currently writing a history book about his father''s career.

Eric Everret: drums, Los Angeles, CA
Eric has worked with many California jazz and R&B groups, recording with many, including former Frankie Beverly and maze keyboardist Kevin Burton and Sacramento''s own award-winning rock group, Mama''s Pride. Eric has been teaching drum students as well, has done work with Hollywood filmmaker David Lynch, and has performed with many Los Angeles area R&B groups. Along with this, Eric has worked tirelessly as the Vice President of the non-profit.

Regan Branch: saxes and flute; Houston TX
Regan has worked with numerous jazz and funk bands studied music at San Diego State College, has performed with several jazz and R&B bands, touring with such artists as James Brown. He is currently working towards getting a music degree at Sacramento State. he performs also with Sac State''s Latin jazz Ensemble.



The Samuel C. Allen foundation, a 501c non-profit corporation dong work to raise money for student scholarships at University of California.
