It Factor Music is a songwriting team that consists of two people, Erin Murphy-Dunn and Chris Matty. The partnership began after they met in an online class at the Berklee College of Music. Chris and Erin realized they had similar tastes in music, and similar goals to reach with their own songs which is publishing, licensing, and placement. The two forged ahead and began writing and recording. The chemistry was there, the teamwork, the passion for writing great songs, everything gelled.

Today''s technology enables them to record in their own home studios, trade files back & forth over the internet and email, and create music from start to finish in short time. With songs being recorded and finished quickly, they decided to come up with a name for their partnership and start promoting themselves as a songwriting team.

CHRIS MATTY: After spending a year at Berklee College of Music, Chris pursued music regionally back in New Jersey, playing with various bands, through out the tri-state area and cutting his teeth in various New York City studios. He honed his engineering and production chops, leading to better gigs, working with keyboardist David Rosenthal, (Billy Joel), and session drummer Jonathan Mover (Fuel, Joe Satriani) in their private recording studios. Chris has had the privilege of working on some great projects like Billy Joel’s Movin Out on Broadway, and in the recording studio with some fantastic musicians like progressive rock’s Happy the Man, Matt Kramer of Saigon Kick, and drummer Chuck Burgi, who has played with Meatloaf and Enrique Igesias. He also ran his own artist management and production firms, working with bands across the area in the rock, pop, and alternative genres.
ERIN MURPHY-DUNN: Most of Erin''s songwriting has been showcased with her former band, Juniper''s Daughter, in which she was the singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Her studio experience is extensive, as the band had recorded several full length CD''s, and she also records in her home studio. Over the years, her music has received good reviews and songwriting accolades. In addition to her own band, Erin has played in other live band situations as either the lead guitarist, singer, and even drummer. She is currently a student at the Berklee College of Music, studying for a Professional Certificate in Music Business. Erin is a member of ASCAP and the SGA (Songwriters Guild of America).
