Biography

Although they perform some cover material, singer/songwriter Dave Rawlinson has crafted over 40 original songs since September 2005. Rawlinson, an Associate Professor at Central Washington University, has performed as a solo act for over 30 years, but admits that it was getting a little lonely on stage without other musicians. So, in early 2005, Rawlinson started searching for the right musicians to form a band. Realizing that the first ingredient for any successful band is a solid rhythm section, his first stop on that quest was just across the hall: drummer and Central Washington University Professor Robert Lupton.

Bob Lupton is a man of many passions: teaching, family and rock & roll! Lupton is a powerful rock drummer with the necessary finesse for ballads and jazz. Bob brings solid percussive experience to the band, including an early stint with Todd Park Mohr before the formation of Big Head Todd & The Monsters. Of course, there are at least two ingredients to any rhythm recipe, so Lupton has a fabulous partner in creating the "bottom" to the band''s music, bassist Caspar van Haalen.

Originally from the Netherlands, Caspar van Haalen has a Master''s degree in English and teaches for a high school ELL program. He performed with several excellent Dutch bands before moving to the US and provides critical input on arrangements for the band''s music. Caspar''s five-string Ken Smith bass guitar and original sound will instantly get your attention. Once van Haalen and Lupton agreed to give the band a try, Rawlinson went looking for a talented and distinctive lead guitarist. That guitarist is Robert Pieters.

During the day, Bob Pieters works at Central Washington University, quietly providing support and services to faculty and staff for over 20 years. However, Pieters'' has an "electric" side to his personality. He has been playing rock and country guitar for over 40 years. Pieters'' Telecaster, Strat and Gibson SG guitar riffs instantly identify the band''s music. Bob enjoys the challenge of creating new lead arrangements for every song Rawlinson writes, as long as he gets at least 10 minutes notice!

While Rawlinson''s original wish was for a band, he ended up with two wishes being granted: a great band and great friends. Discover for yourself the fun, excitement and dedication of these musicians. By day, they serve others through work and teaching, while at night they perform great original music for people of all ages.
