Description:
The book “Outside Today” is a beautifully illustrated full color children’s book, which uses for its text, the lyrics to a song of the same name, written and performed by the author. A sing-along CD is included with the book. The book asks and answers the question “What can I do outside today?” for each of the four seasons. The aspiring reader will learn the lyrics by listening to the CD and then recognizing the words in print.
The song “Outside Today” is a fun, rockin’ shuffle that will get the kids dancing and the parents humming. With a solid rhythm section, hot blues guitar, pedal steel, harmonica and washboard, this kid’s song cooks! Also included is a fun bonus track “Toes”, also written and performed by the author.
Bios:
Sharon Allen is a singer and songwriter living in Central New York. She performs children''s music and musical stories at libraries, schools, child care centers and special events throughout the area. She performs with her musical partner Donna Butterfield as "Milk & Cookies", and has released a CD of their original songs entitled "Boo Boo Blues". On weekends, you may also catch Sharon on stage belting out the blues!
Illustrator Marsha Zavez is a teacher at North Hampton School in North Hampton, New Hampshire where she teaches visual arts and drama in grades k-8. She is also a working oil and acrylic painter who exhibits her work at art shows and galleries throughout New England.
