Shoeshine Blue is a gumbo of folk, blues, lo-fi, and books. What began as Michael Apinyakul writing and playing all instruments, has now expanded to Shawn Mclain on violin, vocals, and drums, and William Joersz on upright bass. "Talk Real Slow" was written as an album, not just a collection of songs. It chronicles a ghostly romance from the country to the city and while having a strong sense of place, it has an elusive sense of time. It could have happened fifty years ago, just yesterday, or right now. Until production becomes completely overwhelming, each copy of "Talk Real Slow" comes in a beatiful, hand screen printed cover, each one numbered by the the copy and the batch. A lot of love has gone into this album. We hope you like it.
