Six Foot Sissy is a band fronted by a 6’4" wordsmith who’s musings include NBA folklore, youthful tripping at the county mall, and the absurd, if not harmless, self-importance that has driven hip-hop culture over the past twenty years.

Dole arrives onstage in monastic robes and long blonde wigs to rhyme about his childhood memories of Hip-Hop-Meets-the-Suburban world, while the band captures a fresh sound with a unique sense of humor and style. His offbeat stage presence and tendency for dozing off mid performance keeps the band at a safe, self-mocking distance from the trap of taking themselves at all too seriously.

Six Foot Sissy creates music with intriguing melodies and unwavering backbeats that serve as the foundation of their explosive live performance. Meanwhile, Dole is the charming embodiment of self-effacement onstage. His words are charged with a conversational, humorous, often sarcastic, folk-hip hop style, and are delivered and designed to place as little importance on life’s daily grind as possible.

Six Ft. Sissy''s new album, "The State of New York" is getting the attention of fans and media all over the world, and orders for the long-anticipated album are mounting by the day. Here is what critics are already saying:

"From song to song, the listener is brought on a sonic supernova emanating from the perfect blend of funk, rock, hiphop, and jazz. Vocal and instrumental melodic hooks are infectious from the beginning of the album to the end." - R. Everson, The New Village Voice

"Paint-peeling musicianship! Well-written songs, each with tangible, sing-along-at-the-top-of-your-lungs quality!" - Al Wilson, The London Songwriter

"Sir Dole, the enigmatic frontman of Six Foot Sissy (after who''s alterego it is widely believed the band is named), weaves lyrical stories that at first seem silly or perhaps amateur. Upon a closer listen, though, the profound and truthful insights of every song on the album reveal themselves. Life in New York is complicated. Shouldn''t we take it less seriously?" - W. Smith, The Daily Post

"The new defining voice and sound of these complex times have arrived. Well worth the wait!!!" - Sammy Parker, "Rollin'' Stone"

"The stories told in each song, each hook, each musical transition, from the elusive "live" opening of the record to the static and audio imagery that connect every song without one moment of silence, to the explosive climax that leaves listeners screaming for more, "The State of New York" is a cohesive, must-have record that satirically speaks to anyone whose lives have been touched by confusion and stress." - Roger Coughlin, "The New Yorker Review"

"The greatest concept record since Greenday''s "American Idiot." Makes you want to experience a simultaneous New York invasion and exodus." -R. Frick, "The Chicago Alternative"

"Without hesitation, 5 out of 5 stars!" - Susan Dominguez, "Los Angeles Weekly"

"The songs are both well-structured and unpredictable. After just the first listen, they stick in your head for days." - Meridith Cohn, "Spinn"

"Once again, New York takes its place as the central metaphor for the chaos everywhere. Well articulated!!" - Paul Hasslinger, "The Literate Listener"
