Details:
Dream Awake is a progressive Folk Rock trio, reinventing the English Folk Rock sound of the 60’s and 70’s. With an emphasis on clever dynamics and male/female vocal harmonies, Dream Awake deliver an exciting live performance.

Dream Awake formed in Tasmania, Australia in 2004 and later relocated to the thriving music scene of Melbourne in 2006. During this time they gigged extensively at renowned venues including The Republic Bar (Tas), The Espy (Melb) and The Empress (Melb) and supported well known Australian acts such as Deborah Conway and Nick Barker.

Dream Awake were also invited to play at such events as The Cygnet Folk Festival, the MS Fest and Marcia Hines ‘Starry night’ Concert.

In early 2007, Dream Awake launched their debut EP ‘The Key Tree’. This was followed up with the release of their acoustic EP ‘Temporary Shore’ in January 2008. Both have received flattering reviews and earned a respectful following for the band.

In February 2008 Dream Awake spread their wings, taking off on a musical journey and are currently based in Ireland. The year promises to be an exciting one, with European gigs being booked and festival appearances locked in for the summer months in England and Scotland.

“Yet another great release from a confident, intelligent & original trio with a strong sense of themselves despite their youth - not afraid to shine in the face of so much contemporary rock mediocrity.”
From ‘Temporary Shore’ EP review by Bradfield Dumpleton for https://www.tradebit.com, Jan 08

“The music moves dynamically, with clever lyrics, flawless key changes and smooth tempo changes. I''d expect this level of production from Sony BMG, not an independently released record.”

“Their sound has been described as acoustic folk rock, but that really does little justice to the startling maturity of their innovative music…Listening to this music I feel the majesty of an eagle soaring through an infinite sky.”
“THE KEY TREE” EP review by Bradfield Dumpleton for https://www.tradebit.com, August ’07

“The front man is an exceptional guitarist and can be compared to classical Blues and Roots artists such as Jeff Lang and John Butler”
Live review by Garrett Bithell & Claire Jarrett for the Indie Initiative, The Brag, Nov ‘05

“The singer has a fine, distinctive voice and the delivery showed both he strength and subtlety to do justice to the songs. The bass player and drums powered it along, reminding me of English bands such as Fairport Convention…Young musicians playing with soul and conviction.”
Live Review by Neil Wedd for the Indie Initiative, Inpress, June ''06
