Details:
Hi, I’m Joe Dietz, and this is my (very) short biography: I’m a composer, songwriter, arranger, and a prolific musician playing primarily piano and keyboards. I simply love music and my style reflects heavy influences of Rock, R&B, Soul and Jazz. I’ve been playing with several bands or Big Bands. Actually I prefer the studio work.

At the age of 10, I started my first piano lessons. At the age of 15, I had my first Band “The Commons”. Since that time, I have gained a lot of musical experience in a variety of bands and expanded my expertise in different musical fields. Most recently, for example, I published a primer for young musicians who want to study modern improvisation in jazz.

The range of music and musicians which have influenced me is very wide. The fact that I have become acquainted with the music of the great J.B. Bach when I was a very young guy has had as much of an impact as the rock music by Deep Purple or Joe Cocker, the "sophisticated" music of Steely Dan as well as the music of Sting and the jazz of the likes of Charlie Parker, Chick Corea and so many contemporary masters of today’s popular music.

Hi folks, I’m Matt Kraemer! I write songs since the 90s as well as in German as in English language (mostly). Normally I prefer (and I love!) the “classical style” of songwriting, which means most of my songs and melodies are based on guitar. Almost my complete songbook is about love, peace, development of the individual, but even romance shouldn’t come off badly in my music - and in my life! In the late 80s up to the mid 90s I used to play live, especially with two fantastic musicians of my region, where I live. Later on, when I started songwriting, I unfortunately was neglecting playing live, I did only sporadicly.

My first love was – my guitar! With her I started playing as a street musician, before I founded my first band. For many years I''ve been gathering musical experience.

In the 70s there were coming up bands such as America, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Doobie Brothers and so on, which were fascinating me and which therefore have influenced my music and my style. But James Taylor, in my mind, he is the greatest: his music, his voice, his personality. But now, I thought, the time has come for me, to write and perform some songs in German language, my mother tongue. I use to observe my environment very exactly. And therefore I’ve accumulated so many pictures and ideas to describe and to sing about. And so I asked Joe Dietz to support me. But he will tell you now, how the MATT KRAEMER JOE DIETZ PROJEKT – MKJPD was born:

I often had arranged some material for my friend Matt Kraemer and played some instruments for several tracks of his songs, which he sang without exception in English. One day Matt said to me: “Hey Joe, I am in the mood to make some songs in German! Do you think you would be interested in getting together to arrange and produce some stuff? That would be really cool! Right away he let me sample some of his material, and I was convinced of the viability of his idea and was really excited that he asked that I be part of this project. Instantly, while working on the first song, this thing began to take on a life of its own. I interspersed and applied some of my ideas and suddenly we both felt the same inspirational, highly charged and productive atmosphere that we had experienced when we worked together on previous projects. It seemed there was no turning back- the Matt Kraemer-Joe Dietz - Project was born.
