I am a poetress/emcee who has a passion for diversity. I believe hip-hop can take a piece of every type of music then converge under the guise of this counter culture. Hip-hop is a lifestyle, not just a bling-bling fashion statement or the thug/ho mentality that the steriotype of rappers hold. Yes, hip-hop had risen out of N.Y. but, it cooked in the melting pot of deep East Coast urban neighborhoods. Now, the music has grown to span the globe. Every genera of music is present. Does that not also mean those cultures who created those rhythems and melodies are present as well? I take part in good poetry and break beats. I''m into working with other musicians to make innovative expressions. I want to filter the beauty and harsh reality of life through me. I need to feel that flow of power that making music provides in order to be complete and move on. I want these songs to be the keys to hidden doorways leading to proficient artistry. Bless. Peace.
