I bought my first guitar in 1965 while in the Navy. I
played it for six months and received order to go on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelet. I was on this carrier until I was Honorably dicharged in 1967.
I came home and found my guitar broken in two pieces. I asked my brother if he did it he said "No." I think he got drunk and broke it, but I left it alone.
I began college where I met Richard. He could listen and play songs just like the artist. We went to music store in Atlanta where I traded a set of drums plus $15.00 to purchase a Gibson J 50 guitar. It was the best deal I ever made.
I composed my songs on this guitar. The songs I sent to CD Baby was done with my Gibson SG. "Alabam Bill" was the first song I composed in 1968. In 1980 I became serious about song writing.
In 1982 I registered "Alabam Bill" and "Two Tooth Sue" in a collection with the Library of Congress on Form PA. 1989 I composed "I Got The Blues" it is a single registration with the Library of Congress on Form PA.
2000 I composed " I Got The Blues All Night Long" and "I Want A Woman" they are both on single registrations with the Library of Congress on Form PA. " Sady Brown" was composed in 2007 , it is a single registration with the Library of Congress on Form PA.
In March 1971 I met my wife, Brenda. We have been married 37 years. We have two great sons Jamie born in 1975 and Jeremy 1980.
Jamie and his wife Kristin have given us two grandchildren Aidan (5) and his sister, Lexi (2). Jeremy and his wife, Kristi have given us this year our grandson, Carter he is almost 3 months old.
My family is very important to me.
