Unique among composers of his generation, Garrett Fisher (b. 1970) has a collaborative compositional style, working closely with singers and musicians around a theme as he writes his piece. Fisher He employs an array of instruments, including Indian harmonium, piano, electric guitar, Taiko percussion, oboe, oboe d''amore, English horn, and viola da gamba, as well as a variety of voices, from opera to pure tone sounds. has evolved his method to include the contributions of directors, choreographers, dramaturgs, designers and actor/dancers. His work, "The Passion of Saint Thomas More," was recently released on the BIS label to international acclaim.
