Rather than follow a literal interpretation of an historical situation, The Passion of Saint Thomas More is a meditation on the integrity of More''s sublimely difficult decision to remain true to his convictions. The hypnotic music is based on a simple Norwegian folk melody that plays off of the rich, mesmerizing sounds of Indian Harmonium, and ritualistic drumbeat of the Dumbek.
