This CD is a collaboration between local Raleigh/Durham NC musicians
Will McFarlane (formerly a Bonnie Raitt sideman, and Muscle Shoals session luminary) and SDIneson (member of Raleigh''s Milagro Saints)
By a simple twist of fate Will and SD (stephen) became aware of each other sometime in 2005 because a mutual friend, photographer Bruce deBoer had played Will some of SD''s tunes.
Will was interested and the two starting working on some of SD''s songs together sporadically between other musical commitments.
SD " Will had a few afternoons free here and there, and I brought over basic tracks on a hard drive to his place. Will''s spontaneous musicianship, creativity and vast experience meant that he could sit down, listen to half the song and then knock out a first take on everything, starting with bass, then adding a ton of guitar parts.
We recorded several songs in a few hours, Will can ''get'' a song within a few minutes of hearing it. He says its because sometimes he would record whole albums at Muscle Shoals in a couple of days, and session guys had a shorthand system to block out the arrangements and changes"
Ineson''s songs cover a wide range of subjects , a yearning for peace in ''New Found Land'' SD "Originally America was the New Found Land, and a lot of people came here to escape, war, conflict and persecution. Now we find ourselves the makers of war, we need to turn things back around"
"Talkin'' ''bout love (for the earth)" is a plea for action on the effects humans are having on the environment, a plea first voiced by artist''s like Marvin Gaye and Curtis Mayfield 30 years ago, still we are not listening."
Much of the remaining material expresses positive spiritual messages,
which fit right in with Will''s longtime involvement as his church''s musical director and SD Ineson''s work with Raleigh''s Unity Church''s Sounds of Creation choir.
