In the late 90''s I found out that several of the guys I worked with played instruments. We had everything; guitars, vocals, backup vocals, keyboard, percussion, and a bass player. I kept asking "Guys, when are we going to get together?" There was always an excuse. Someday. Someday we''ll get together. Well, we did, for a spell. At first enthusiasm ran high and we met on a fairly regular basis to practice. We played music from Elvis, the Beatles, the Eagles, even some Bare Naked Ladies. Top 40 type stuff from the 60’s on. We got good enough to have a few performances that went well. But the 40+ hours a week job, people moving in different directions professionally, and the Texas mid summer heat on our instruments in the car, all took their toll. I have stuck with the name "Someday". The way I figure it, whether I''m a band of one, two, or five, "Someday" would be our name.
At the time I thought Someday was clever and fitting. But after some research, it seems like there are hundreds of "Someday"s. Perhaps I need to rethink the name "Someday". We''ll see. Update on name: Hmmmm. I see that if I make the quotes part of the name, it is much more unique.
I have one CD out, "Humpty Dumpty". Just released it (Mar ''08). I improvised a lot on that release. I did the recording and mixing at my home studio. I perform vocals, backup vocals, rhythm guitar, some lead guitar, bass, percussion, and keyboard, all with the exception of the title song "Humpty Dumpty". Kerac Moore, an excellent percussionist, performed percussion for that song. That particular song doesn''t show off his talent, but he is talented. We had recorded his percussion part back in the mid ''90''s. I remixed the song building it around his percussion part.
I''ve started work on a second CD. No release date yet in mind, still working out the nuts and bolts. I hope to release this year, though.
