After the monumental success of his previous Not Shy album, Walter cut HiFi in a home recording studio to better capture the excitement of his live show with the Professional Band, with whom he''d been on the road for six months. Despite the momentum he''d achieved with the million-seller Magnet and Steel, Columbia Records managed to mis-promote this record. It is a lost treasure.
After the disappointment with the promo on HiFi Walter wanted out of his six LP deal but was persuaded to have Earle Mankey (Beach Boys, 20/20)produce this outing. It was called the Last Stroll for a reason, and soon this under promoted disc soon met the same fate as its predecessor. It features guitar work by the legendary Deke Leonard.
This CD also includes a bonus track of just the vocals from the hit Magnet and Steel.
