Eclectic contemporary Jazz

11 MP3 Songs
JAZZ: Jazz Fusion, JAZZ: Smooth Jazz

Details:
If you love melody, you''ll love this CD.

This group is brand new just out of the box.

Galileo is a new eclectic jazz trio from San Antonio, Texas. There are several potential hits on this debut CD. The instrumentation features the varied sounds of the EVI: electronic valve instrument, Piano/bass and hybrid acoustic & V-drums.
After a separation of some 27 years, these 3 musicians have reunited to compose some beautifully melodic contemporary jazz. After spending 2 years in the studio, Galileo published "Earthbound", the first of two CD''s, in January of 2005. All the songs vary in style from Latin jazz to Pop, to straight ahead Jazz, to Blues etc... The one thing uniquely consistent in these original compositions is the emphasis on melody.
The second CD, "Escape Velocity", is scheduled to be released before the end of 2005.
Members of the trio: Brad DiBaggio plays a unique mix of acoustic and electronic V-drums. He composes all of the rhythm for the group and was the master engineer for the first CD. He is also an award winning graphic designer and owns his own design firm in San Antonio. He designed the cover art for "Earthbound". Chip Ruedebusch plays the EVI (electronic valve instrument). There are no actual valves but rather electronic contact buttons. This instrument is capable of playing sampled sounds from any instrument imaginable. This is what gives Galileo such a variety of sound in their eclectic package. Chips'' father, Dick Ruedebusch, was a legendary Dixieland trumpet player. Chip composes the lead melodies on all Galileo''s charts. Jon Sanders is the reason the trio is not a quartet! He plays the bass as well as the keyboard to give the band that true four piece sound. Jon is the lead composer and writes the foundation for each composition. He is also a vocalist.
Galileo has only recently begun to perform live. Their debut engagement was on June 29th, 2005. Since then they have been invited to perform at San Antonio''s annual downtown Jazz festival and to open for Spyro Gyra at a special outdoor event 2 weeks later. This group is one to keep an eye on. There songs are enjoyable to a broad audience, they have a big sound for a trio and they''ve got some really good songs! One of the more popular Galileo tunes is a song called "Sharons Legs". It''s a favorite of one of the popular San Antonio evening Jazz DJ''s. It''s been receiving consistent air play on weekend jazz radio.
If you like a variety of jazz and instrumental music, Galileo''s "Earthbound" might be one of the CD''s you''re looking for.
