Details:
Garfunkle divides his time among keyboard playing, drum programming, lyric writing, working, song recording, and photography. A few other things, too, but that just about covers it.
All of Garfunkle''s music is self-taught, self-made, independently done, recorded, mixed, produced, composed - you get the picture, this is his stuff. The photography on the album cover and tray is Garfunkle''s. He plays the keys, programs the drums, plays the basslines, sequences, mixes, and occasionally sleeps.
His instrumental work ranges from hip-hop beats (much of the material on _Three, Billion, and Twenty-Two_) to keyboard-driven songs ("Splash"), to beats with vocal snippets to lend the song atmosphere (think DJ Shadow''s earlier stuff). His vocal work is drawn from fifteen years of incessant writing and a love for hip-hop combined with a conscious outlook. Musical influences are all over the map, from The Roots to the Beatles to DJ Shadow to John Coltrane to the Disco Biscuits.. Garfunkle is addicted to music.
Currently available from Garfunkle, in addition to _Splash_ at https://www.tradebit.com is _Three, Billion, and Twenty-Two_, a twelve-song instrumental CD-R. It is mostly instrumental hip-hop, with a dose of jazz and general wig-out.
