https://www.tradebit.com: "Rich harmonies, catchy melodies mixed with some remarkable guitar leads that capture some of the best elements of rock music from the past four decades, Apartment D is a necessary addition to any serious music fans CD collection."

The Global Muse: "The vocals harmonies and the musicianship is amazing here...This is how music was meant to be created. Pushcar''s music represents the freedom and diversity that music is all about. This one comes highly recommended." (5 stars out of 5 stars in "Sound Quality," "Production," "Musicianship," "Originality" & "Overall")

The Muses Muse: "The excitable charm of Chris and Jim''s songwriting and performing skills stems from the alternative nature of construction and realization...The guitars are one of the best reasons to listen... you do get a feeling on certain tracks that you''re almost latching onto an epic tune which could get all wild and nasty."

The members of the band, Pushcar, hail from both Northern and Southern California, and strive to provide a unique and eclectic glimpse into the independent and underground music scenes. "Apartment D," their debut release, showcases the depth of their influences (Frank Black, Beatles, Petty, Throwing Muses) as well as the length they''ll go to twist and distort them.

Songwriters Jim Saunders and Chris Farrell partnered together to compose and arrange the twelve tracks on "Apartment D," while enlisting a host of guest musicians and engineers to participate in the recording and interpretation of the songs.

Chris Farrell began writing and singing with the West Los Angeles underground college rock outfit, Bubbis, in 1989, which was best known for their notorious underground hit, "Get a Life." He left soon after to start critical-fave, Curse Toast, with fellow Bubbis-mate Anthony Mondello. Curse Toast released their self-titled first album in 1993 (which included the single, "Soak"), and followed it up with the highly successful "Two Words" in 1996 (which included the single "Posterity" and the anti-single, "Old Lady").

Jim Saunders entered the musical fray in the early 1990''s by heading up the Orange County hardcore outfit, Second Thoughts, which released a successful self-titled album, and gigged with the likes of Offspring, No Doubt, SNFU, Crimpshrine, the Adolescents and Shark Bait.

After a brief solo stint, Jim joined up with the mighty Curse Toast in 1996 to help write, record and produce their third and final album, "Silver Spork" (which included the college radio staples "Little Orange Man" and "The Night Before a Year-Long Trip").

When Curse Toast broke up in early 1998, Saunders partnered with fellow bandmate Farrell to begin Pushcar, and to record the above-referenced "Apartment D." Additional musicians included Anthony Mondello on guitar, previously of L.A.''s Dissemblance, New York''s J.C. (a precurser of Overmars) and the aforementioned Curse Toast; and Damon Marshall on drums, a Los Angeles musician who has played with the likes of Sick Dog and Grudenheist. The album was mastered by Brendan Feeney of Overmars at Chronic Music in New York.

The result is, according to Round Sound, comparable to offerings by "some of the more esoteric outfits like Radiohead and Olivia Tremor Control" and an example of "impressive diversity, creativity, and execution with a sense of humor."
