Shweta Jhaveri is one of the celebrated young performers of the north Indian vocal classical music of the present times. Her specialty is the North Indian (Hindustani)classical vocal form KHAYAL. She performs tappa, thumri, tarana, Bhajans with equal ease & precision and is also adept at singing Dhrupad and south Indian (Carnatic) ragas. Born and brought up in Ahmedabad-India, Shweta is the premier female vocalist from Gujarat-India to perform classical music internationally since her age of 19. Since her mid twenties, she has garnered renown as a pioneer vocalist of Hindustani classical music and also for her innovative world music concerts of ragas, Khayals & recordings with world musicians.
Shweta Jhaveri is the founder of Cosmic Khayals since her age of 30, a music company that features her music & lyrics. Shweta Jhaveri is also the founder of a record label 21st Century Cosmos music (2003) which produced her Indian classical vocal CDs AVISHKAR & KHAYAL-SAGA in 2003 followed by the world music Cd title HUGE in 2007. Shweta ’s mesmerizing voice is recognized today in the fields of Indian classical vocal & World vocal music.
