Hey there - if you''re in fact reading this right now, let me just thank you at the outset. Grassroots Poet represents my first full length solo project, and it has really been a labor of love for me the entire way through. I''ll be the first to admit my songs are far from the best quality or even the best lyrical composition, but I hope, above all else, that they come across as honest. The real reason I chose to produce this album was so I could somehow connect with people who shared a similar perspective as my own, and for those who may not necessarily view the world from my vantage point, perhaps through my songs, they''ll get an idea of where someone like me stands. Some of my heroes include Bob Dylan, John Mellencamp, Woody Guthrie, Mark Twain, Bruce Springsteen and Jim Croce. Though I do not pretend to be their musical or poetic equal, I hope I have begun a tradition of inheriting a legacy that they all have put forth in their own individual way. That''s really where I, and the name of the album, comes from. So for all the Grassroots Poets out there, thanks for listening.
