George Bowman was born and raised in a small town about five miles outside of Jackson, Miss. Called Edwards, Miss. In the birthplace of American roots music. In 1965 George moved to Phoenix, Arizona where many legendary black musicians and performers resided.

George began to realize the potential around him by meeting some local musicians such as Rochelle Whitehead and Delmar Stewart. George lived in an apartment complex and his landlord was Dyke of Dyke and the Blazers, who became the hottest R&B Funky Broadway band in Phoenix, he landed a big record deal for the song Funky Broadway. George became good friends with Dyke, and Dyke took him to a few of his gigs in a club called Swing City. There George desired to be an R&B Singer, he along with Rochelle and Delmar formed the R&B band called Memphis Soul. With the help of a friend named Mike Metko who passed away some years ago, they began to perform in North Phoenix at a club called the Band Box.

George and the Memphis Soul Band began opening for big time groups such as, Buddy Miles, Taj Mahal, Dr. Hook, and Sweet Water. The first concert Memphis Soul members were Fletcher Hall, Rodney Brown (who was also that Funky Broadway drummer for Dyke and the Blazers), Rick Porter, L. Rogers, Gary Russell, Danny Gonzales, Delmar Stewart and Rochelle Whitehead. Improving with time and experience, George became lead singer for "Soul on Ice" where he learned projection and delivery to be a good singer. George wanted nothing more than his music, but in 1996, tragically his mother passed. George gave up music until 1999 when he won the 1999 Blues Showdown best of Arizona and opened his first ever Arizona Blues Society Blues Blast with Charles Brown, the Delgado Bros., Little Ed and the Imperials, Sam Meyers and many more.

On May 4th, 2002 George released his first CD "Feel Sorry for the Next Man" at the Rhythm Room in Phoenix where a full house was in attendance. Now the sky''s the limit for Badd Boy George Bowman.
