THE STORY: “The Long Hard Way,” GIRTH’s first release, is based on the story of a young woman and man who find each other deep in the late hours of the night on the streets of NYC. The young woman (Dena Deadly) starts her journey fresh and naïve to the realities of life in a fast city. Surrounded by sleazy, deceptive men, she quickly becomes jaded and distrusting of all people and learns to silence her newfound pain with drugs and alcohol. The young man (Rami Perlman) is one of those “slick n pretty” brothers who is immediately taken by her beauty and innocence. It is precisely because she is not interested in him (something he is not acustomed to), that he begins to pursue her and follow her every move, eventually pulling her into his dark world.
THE MUSIC: GIRTH is an 8-piece band that will tantalize and tease. With the soul and sex of the jazz era and the emphatic pulse of a Hip-Hop foundation, GIRTH moves the dance floor and excites fans with its completely new sound. GIRTH boasts an expansive, pre-existing fan base “web” woven by the worlds of four musical entities that have joined to create GIRTH. They are:
