Details:
It is hard to put your finger on exactly what it is about Brianna Carpenter''s voice that is so pleasing to the ear. There is something about her vocal timbre that is just impossible to ignore. Brianna remembers her childhood and the times she used to pretend Ken was Elton John and he was putting on a concert for the Barbies and the Ninja Turtles. Elton John was the first artist that Brianna really connected with. The vibrance and energy of his music was something that she could really identify with. Ever since those days Brianna has been fascinated by songwriting and through other musical influences such as Jeff Buckley, Jamie Cullum, Ben Folds Five and Bic Runga; she now creates her own mix of Folky Alternative Pop.

Even though Brianna was born completely deaf in one ear this has not stopped her drive to compose. Brianna began songwriting at the age of 13 and after writing her first real song "The Web" people started to realize that she was destined for greatness. Her stage pursuits have also stretched into musical theatre, acting and pantomime which were a great way for her to gain invaluable lessons in stagecraft.

Brianna recorded her first solo acoustic album "Elements" in December 2003 at the age of 17. In 2005 Brianna traveled to Europe to experience other cultures and take herself out of her comfort zone. She traveled around 13 countries by herself, which for a 19 year old girl that didn''t speak any other languages was definitely a life changing experience. In October of the same year Brianna released her debut EP "Spotted" which went on to sell very well throughout Australia.

For the next few years Brianna focused on her studies of music at the Conservatorium in Queensland, Australia. It was here where she learntedto produce and engineer her own music which has helped further her musical knowledge.

So far this year Brianna has been extremely busy as she was asked to be the Ambassador for the Hear and Say Centre''s Charity Appeal. The Hear and Say Centre has been set up to teach profoundly deaf children how to listen and speak. The Charity has been making such a difference in for children for the last 10 years and continues to do great work. Brianna was so inspired by he work that they do there that she wrote a song especially for the Centre. They loved the song so much that they are going to use it for various appeals to come, on their website and on their television advertisements.

On top of the work that she has been doing for the Hear and Say Centre, Brianna has also been busy in the studio preparing her upcoming album release "Harlequin. After months of being hidden away at various locations around Queensland, the album is finally finished. Brianna and her producer Brendan Anthony are extremely pleased with the end product. "Harlequin" is a great mix of folky alternative pop. The instrumentation and arrangements are full and yet intimate at the same time. A large number of musicians were asked to be a part of this project, and the outcome is absolutely worth a listen.
