Like Cheap Trick before him, Clark Richard plans on putting his hometown of Rockford, IL back on the map. Clark has a long history in music for someone of his young years; undergoing life-changing experiences early on, he was inspired to write songs that helped him find his true, unique voice.
With diverse influences ranging from Bryan Adams and Rufus Wainwright, to the Everly brothers, Clark is a natural performer whose sound is witty, intelligent, upbeat, and truly his own.
Originally from Rockford, Illinois, Clark started playing guitar in elementary school - closing out that first year with a moving rendition of "Mary Had A Little Lamb" to his 4th grade class. He graduated from high school in 2004 and now attends Belmont University in Nashville, TN.
Kye Fleming caught a performance of Clark Richard in highly competitive university sponsored showcase with top ten songwriter George Ducas. Kye had this to say about Clark Richard, "An artist needs talent, charisma, and determination. Clark has it all. I was sold before he finished the first song."
Clark''s career continues to develop with his performance to over 2,000 in the elite "Best of the Best" Belmont Showcase and with his performance at Illinois'' largest music festival "On The Waterfront" in his hometown of Rockford, IL. As in the place he calls home, Clark has begun to conquer the attention of the Nashville music scene. Ranging from sincere lyrics to feel good anthems, young and old alike are drawn to the voice of Rockford''s own golden boy, Clark Richard.
