FOLK: Gentle, FOLK: Fingerstyle

Details:
Graceful dancer, gracioushostess, gifted artist,
beloved friend, gentle wife andmother, this was Danalee Theresa Maixner. Mike was her friend and husband and Danalee was the love of his life for twenty six years as they traveled with the military and shared their life with two sons, Patrick and Andrew. Danalee lost a courageous three year struggle with ovarian cancer in September 2006. A couple of months later Mike had a dream of his beloved Danalee dancing among the stars and was inspired to begin writing songs and poetry that mourned and celebrated his lost love. This album includes three of these poignant melodies “Her Time to Go”, “My Danalee” and “Still In His Heart”. Butterfly Ballet is a company that was created
in Dana’s memory to promote awareness of the symptoms of ovarian cancer. Awareness of the facts, risks and symptoms can lead to early detection. Early detection can make all
the difference. Danalee had a passion for dance that
wove its way through her entire life as a performer, teacher and choreographer. A favorite pendant of Dana’s was a unique, ballet themed design created for her by
her husband, a Butterfly Pas de trois. This elegant piece which so perfectly suited Danalee, delicate and feminine
with the graceful strength of a ballerina, was the inspiration and foundation for Butterfly Ballet. It has come to symbolize the dance of life for all women. Give the gift of awareness to the women you love by sharing
the cards on the back of this CD cover. Visit https://www.tradebit.com and watch for the butterfly to emerge with fine jewelry, inspirational music and delicious chocolate! A portion of the proceeds from every
purchase will support ovarian cancer research and
awareness and foster a love of dance through scholarship.

David Milam is a fourth generation musician who grew up surrounded by relatives playing guitar, banjo, harmonica and singing blues, country, gospel and folk music. He started playing guitar and singing while in elementary
school and soon after, he was learning to play the banjo and twelvestring guitar. As a teenager, David heard
singer/songwriter, Jim Croce perform on the Tonight
Show and he knew then that he wanted to play guitar and
sing for a listening audience. From fronting a top forty
band, in the eighties, to a series of musical duos, he found a way to live out his dream while maintaining a day
job and raising a family. In 2002, a fellow musician urged David to write his first song. Since then, David has been writing lyrics and music that come straight from his heart. His songs show an understanding of life’s love, loss and friendships that can only come from the
wisdom of experience. In March of 2007, Dana’s husband, Mike, walked into David’s studio to learn how to play the guitar. It wasn''t long before Mike realized that David had the beautiful voice and good heart to sing the songs that Mike would write for his beloved Danalee. My heartfelt thanks to my wife Pamela and my daughters Rebecca and Sarah, whose love and faith inspire me. Mike and Marcy thank you for your support, kindness and the opportunities
you have brought into my life. I’d like to dedicate this CD to the memory of my friend and father in law, Raleigh
Doss. 1924-2007.
