This CD of Scottish fiddle & piano (plus a lively Danish tune, too) was called by the Boston Globe a "milestone album for the Boston Celtic community," and by dance newsletter TACTalk, "a precious artistic jewel." More info is available at https://www.tradebit.com or https://www.tradebit.com
Fiddler Ed Pearlman and pianist Beth Robinson play many of the tracks as a duo and are joined on selected tracks by fiddle (Ruthie Dornfeld), bass and harp (Barbara Russell), pipe band drums (Gary McGrath), and hammered dulcimer (Douglas Scott).
The recording was made digitally but originally released on LP and cassette; it has been essentially out of print but due to popular demand has been brought out on CD in 2007 using the original digital master to provide a fresh sound.
Ed Pearlman has worked with many of the top Celtic, especially Scottish and Cape Breton, artists: Alasdair Fraser, Buddy MacMaster, Natalie MacMaster, Jerry Holland, Aly Bain, Tony Cuffe, Joe Cormier, and many others. A CD of his work with the first 5 of these fiddlers is available as "Scottish Fiddle Rally Highlights" on Greentrax Records, highlighting performances from a 15-year series of annual concerts combined with workshops and ceilidhs.
