The album ''In Hand'' was tracked by Karl Weismantel in his personal studio, mixed by Chris Garges and mastered by Brent Lambert. It is an album devoted to swinging jazz guitar and rich vocals drawing from classic jazz standards and a few post-bop gems. Peter Miles and Von Barlow handle the drums while Jason Davis and Paul Creel handle the acoustic bass playing. Karl plays a variety of guitars on the album, including his main guitar, a Gibson L-4, as well as beautiful steel string acoustic and nylon string acoustic guitars, making for many different timbres and textures. Karl''s vocal style is simple and direct and has been compared to Harry Connick, Jack Teagarden and Frank Sinatra. The album has enough sophistication for jazz veterans but, with the direct vocal style, also is accessible to those beginning to investigate jazz.
