The first in a unique series, this CD provides television producers direct and inexpensive access to underground music.
Lately, Totally Killing It has encountered a new generation of television producers who are more into Aphex Twin and Sahsha and Digweed than Randy Newman and John Williams. While they produce segments ranging from cable X-Sports blips to ABC News prime time pieces, all have asked us for music more current than the usual fare horn tags and orchestral hits, more real than the "Electronica" libraries and cheaper than Moby.
To that end, then, we give you, available through CD Baby, the Raw Essentials Series of CDs focused on the needs of television producers. With clean starts, button endings and no distracting change ups, the music can be used for opens, bumpers, background for scenes or beds under tape pieces. Because these limited run self releases will be at CD Baby, you don''t have to wait for the big libraries and their next "Techno Today" series by old school composers with a "Klub Kidz" sound set they bought at Guitar Center . You, not some library "experts" release schedule determine your music options. We are beat heads not composers. These tracks are the real shit, not fancy scores. We don''t have charts for the string parts. Our music is not "composed for TV" so, it fits the reality in stories and dramas today.
We make it super easy to use our music. Buy the CD, use our music how you like, file your ASCAP cue sheets. That''s all. We do do music for big libraries and enjoy doing so but, we are always looking for means to crank out beats and sell them with less office work involved. This CD is the first of the series. It is called Techno Sound Scapes because we''ve noticed all electronic styles seem to get lumped under Techno by library meta data programmers. The sound actually ranges from ambient to trip hop from jungle to chillout. Our notes attempt to describe the mood and emotive possibilities of the music, not the sub genera.
