Psychedelic back porch blues featuring amazing SOLO harmonica and original heart felt lyrics.

16 MP3 Songs
BLUES: Harmonica Blues, FOLK: Acid Folk

Details:
The Colorado harmonica legend, Mad Dog Friedman, has long been renowned for his blistering leads, funky rhythms, and raw and soulful blues. Jack Bruce of the Cream doing Train Time inspired a 16 year Mad Dog to take up the harmonica. His early influences include John Mayall, Son Boy Williamson, Sonny Terry, Big Walter Horton, Big Mama Thorton, James Cotton, Mark Wenner, Norton Buffalo and Taj Mahal. More recently Sugar Blue, Jason Ricci, Carlos del Junco and Howard Levy never cease to amaze him.

So High is largely Mad Dog’s unique and original solo harmonica & vocals. It’s great heart felt back porch blues with a psychedelic twist. All vocals and harmonica work were done by Mad Dog Friedman. So High features 13 digitally remastered tracks from Mad Dog’s debut Harmonica: So Low CD, a newly recorded two harmonica arrangement of Had A Little Woman, plus an amazing recording of Mad Dog’s country blues love song, Shining Through, featuring the sterling guitar work of Jeff “Felonius” Smith.

This is what Sugar Blues had to say about Mad Dog’s CD: Landing!!! It''s as if E.T. plays the harmonica!!!! I dig your take on the instrument, seeking and speaking!

People who are interested in John Mayall Sonny Terry Sonny Boy Williamson should consider this download.
