Even before my birth I could hear my father playing the guitar while I was still in my mother''s stomach. Most of my childhood memories are
centered around music. So naturally at the age of 13 I began to gravitate towards hip hop. First I was a breakdancer. Then a D.J. Then a rapper. And finally an over all producer. I say over all because at heart I can relate to all expressions of music. One of my goals in life is to eventually produce at least a 12" single for every market in the industry. Including: rap, reggae, R&B, jazz, techno, soul, gospel & new age. So in 1990 & 1991,the rap underground north also know as the" R. U. N. " created & managed by "Kenny White" was the venue I would use to groom myself for this task. After a modest opening arena,the R. U. N. Move to the historical Trocadero. There I got a chance to perform on a "real stage". Elevated above a large crowd. It also had a balcony which gave that "apollo" type feeling. Thanks to kenny white & the rap underground north I was ready to perform in any arena small or large. My first public release was in( 1992 ). It was
put out independently by me and my manager Greg Hennix on a label which we named "Major Flavor Records". The single was called "I''ma Put My Thing Down". The song did very well.
I also signed a recording contract with "kid ent/rca records" because of the constant air and club play of the song. I got to rub elbows with big wigs like "steve stoute" who was the central figure in the deal. I also worked with "big dog films" & "hype williams" writer/directorof "belly"& some of the hottest music videos in the industry on my two videos. The first video was I''ma put my thing down which featured cameos by; boys 2 men, kid & d. J. Wiz of kid-n-play,scores of dancers and steve stoute also. The other video, "u kant play me"was filmed at the "penn relays"& featured cameos by; J. Row from the alchoholiks, n-tyce, big scott, boy backs of ramsquad, n. A. A. M. & more. That same year i also performed at a soldout concert with lisa"lefteye"lopez & t. L. C. However being young & mis-informed about the buisness things started to go sour. In late "1993" i begin to produce singles on local groups like:n. A. A. M. (taking no shorts) p. N. B. (dirty money) & ramsquad''s (keep it real ). Quickly establishing myself as not just a rapper but also a creative & inovative producer. Alias "the beat warlock"
in "1994" i joined forces with the legendary
d. J. Miz (of frescho & miz) and we became"all world music". With the guidance of d. J. Miz i developed my style of recording & mixing my own music & it was on from there. In "1995" miz and i brought forth "ramsquad raw" their first official street album. It did incredibly well. Sales were in the thousands. In "1996" miz & i decided to seperate and persue solo production efforts. That year i released "return of the real" a mixed underground album with me
rapping over original tracks as well as instrumentals that were hot that year. Once again breaking the mold & experimenting. In "1997" i produced the most successful ram album, "regaurdless". This time i collaborated with other local producers such as;ruggedness of platinum bound,
quran(q-dog) of the track masters & of course d. J. Miz. The album was a smash! it was philly lyrics & production at it''s finest. In "1998" i released an indepent maxi-single under the group name "plague regime" distibuted by "jeff collins" of dancefloor & echo int. The lead singles were "2-1-5" &" mother nature ". They were world premeired on "power 99 fm" by "colby colb". I sold about 9,000 units. Shah dasious was back!
in "1999" i began to re-invent myself as a rap artist. Now my music is more focused & mature. 12 years of writting and producing & 9 years of recording was definitly paying off. - i re-connected myself
with the hood where i grew up and started recording new songs. In "2000" i stared writting songs that dealt with serious issues in
the world, not just the basic street thug point of view. Plus, almost living in the library reading numerous books on science, astrology, hollistics, theology, phsycology, astronomy & politics gave me a universal scope. Not just political &
religious but also enviromental. In "2001" i started working with the younger generations of rappers in my projects & discoverd the mythical "fountain of youth". I decided to do an album to once & for all
"rep where i''m from". But this time i would include the youth in the projects. The finished product was called "the legacy". It became
& still is the talk of the hood. But without proper resourses i could''nt promote or distribute the product. However the overall goal was accomplished. And that was to work with & groom the younger rappers and to re-establish my primary fan base. In "2005" i relased return of the real pt. 2 with the help of a. E. Entertainment. Since then i''ve been working hard,researching, body building & plotting my next industry move. Now going into "2008" i''m set to release "back 4 mine" the album & "truth be told" a dvd & soundtrack. It''s aim is sales & promotion. And to bring everyone up thru my musical evolution. The songs vari from; serious to playful, creative, apacalyptic, polictical, religious & personal my goal is to carve open a new market for my paradoxical & "new age" styles of music. Stay tuned.
