THE PETER LIMON ORGANIZATION FOR THE FAMILIES OF WOUNDED VETERANS
If every family in America purchased one CD, we dare say that there would be few if any families unable to visit their wounded loved one!

The organization is all about a Pearl Harbor Survivor’s Dream [read more about Peter below] as he admittedly approaches the sunset of his life. Peter’s dream is to leave behind something to help wounded veterans. That something are the three songs collectively known as “We’ll Carry On”. They tell a story of our young men and women going off to a war, off to an unfamiliar country, “The Sandbox” or so they call it. But the sentiments apply to wars past and future (God forbid!) as well. The second is a beautiful and touching song about loss, and the third equally endearing about hope and resolve. The organization gives 40% of the proceeds of this CD or song downloads to families who genuinely need help to visit their wounded son, daughter, husband. We partner with Fisher House who houses and lodges the families while we contribute to the transportation.

ABOUT THE SONGS

This CD contains three songs: First is a military march by young men and women marching off to war. These brave young people are filled with bravado and patriotism. They are sure of themselves and of their country. They are certainly aware of what could happen, but believe they will return to their families unharmed. The second song is a mother singing sadly of her son…once a small child, who all too quickly grew to manhood and a desire to march off to fight for his country. She sings of her loss. The third song is of a mother’s (but this applies to all family members) resolve to carry on, because that’s what our sons and daughters would want us to do.

The first song: They Say To The Sandbox We Are Going is a fun, funny, poignant march, filled with so much military jargon and humor that you’ll want to listen to it over and over to catch it all. The young men, Jordan and Jacob are superb singers. You’ll love their voices and enjoy the interplay of harmonies. Victoria, the female marine comes in on the end…a theatrical actress, she fits the part beautifully…that of a young female asking the “gents” to come with her…it’s time to get on the boat. We believe this song is destined to become a military “anthem” of sorts. We hope generations from now will enjoy it as much as we’ve enjoyed producing it.

The second song: I Miss Your Smile. When you think of losing someone you love so much, what is it you think you will miss most? First of course, is daily conversation, their touch, the love you both share – especially the unconditional acceptance families have for each other. But as time goes by, you’ll also miss their smile. That smile adds so much to your life, something we really take for granted when their here. This is a mother singing about all of things she’ll miss. It touches your heart, and you can’t help but be moved, because her lament is a human, universal emotion. How on earth will we ever be happy again with our loved one now gone?

The third song: Please Carry On For Me. When 911 happened, you know right where you were. Nothing so devastating has happened like this since Pearl Harbor. But then Rudy Giuliani, President Bush and others urged us all to Carry On. What comfort this was! When we thought life was forever changed and literally coming to an end….here were people we trusted and respected urging us to carry on. And we did. Anyone who is a close family member to a veteran knows that for the most part, they choose to serve and they serve willingly. While they know the risks, their love of country outweigh these. They would want us to carry on in their memory should anything happen to them. This song helps us continue to do just that.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Peter Limon is a Pearl Harbor Vet himself. He was there…on a ship the day the Harbor was attacked. Peter was born January 31, 1924, in Los Angeles, California. He joined the Navy at age 17. Like so many, the Navy became his family. After the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, he was transferred to Patrol Wing Two, where he flew as a radar-radioman. Peter was in the South Pacific, without furlow for four years! Due to his unit’s outstanding performance for enemy ships sunk and damaged, Peter’s squadron UP-52 received the Presidential Unit Citation from President Franklin D. Roosevelt. He received the Air Medal and a personal letter of commendation from Secretary of the Navy James Forrestal.

Peter was then transferred back to San Francisco in June of 1944. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in November of 1945. He quotes in summation: “A treacherous enemy did its worst, we did our best, and we prevailed.”

ABOUT THE MUSICIANS

Barbara Tancredi, the composer, has been singing and writing songs since age 11. She has a recording studio, sets music to professional print and works steady as a performing musician/singer among other things.

Ralph Tancredi is a master musician and arranger (Barbara’s husband and partner in music). He worked with the big bands during their heyday. He still performs regularly as well as arranges at every opportunity.

Rae Lunetta is a lyricist and consultant. This is her first commercial music endeavor. She is so in love with the young Peter on the beach (okay…so she’s in love with the current day Pete, too) that she now sells his photo as a poster entitled: Tio Lili (meaning Uncle Lili, Pete’s nickname).

On the CD cover, is contact information for Barbara, Ralph, Peter and Rae as well as the vocalists and musicians who participated in the production of these remarkable songs (I was going to say “noteworthy”…but then I’d have to say, “no pun intended”).

Listen to our KABC radio show featuring Peter Limon and this CD.

People who are interested in Trisha Yearwood Reba McEntire should consider this download.
