Princesa is Princesa''s side project. Princesa is a boy who walks the streets with his head in the air and likes to dive when he sees the sea. Doesn''t know what he is talking about and still there is someone listening to him. He has recorded into an 8-track recorder some of the music that was buzzing in his head and a record came out.
"I first started recording some sketches in may 2002 and then never stopped. Ideas often come out of sort of improvisations between myself and my guitar in my bedroom and then are developed with drum machines, bass guitar, piano or other stuff. I can''t recall particular influences,
I simply use my voice and my instruments as I would do with a pen to make sketches."
That was his little self-made record ("Cheap phone", 2003) which was printed in a few numbered copies (held tightly by its owners).
In the end of 2006 our guy realizes he has too much songs in his head and he needs to fix them on tape.
So in the january of 2007 he begins a collaboration with
Giulio Favero (One Dimensional Man, Putiferio and Teatro degli Orrori are some of the bands he plays or played with, and we''ll not mention the bands he recorded) and records eleven songs in the Natural Head Quarter Studio in Ferrara.
Then Princesa moves to Paris and asks for some help his friend Lorenzo Tomio, with whom he already played with different bands (Sogni Verticali, Sabbia, Golem). The two add some overdubs and programming (with some string sounds played by Vittorio Demarin/Gomma Workshop for a previous work of Lorenzo).
Back to Ferrara, Princesa has its record mixed by Giulio Ragno Favero: his first official record is ready to be printed.
"This record starts provisional, stumbling,
and with every layer he goes thicker, looks for directions,
isolates itself. It is an attempt to expand the songwriting and arranging process, which aims at bringing the songs who
originally sorted out of a guitar to new ambients and atmospheres."
With the pseudonym of Giorgio Tempesta he played the bass with Sogni Verticali and Oswald, but he also likes drawing and writing little stories that one day will ask him to be released.
