Details:
The Impalers are an all-star reggae band featuring veteran musicians from Skankin'' Pickle, Let''s Go Bowling, The Rudiments, 78 RPM''s and The InCiters. These seasoned pros come together to create a new, energetic and authentic sound steeped in the traditions of Jamaican reggae, rocksteady and dub.

One just needs to hear the Impalers to recognize their true love for Jamaican music. The Impalers take the very best of 60''s and 70''s reggae—deep grooves you would expect of the The Soul Vendors or The Harry J Allstars; sweet melodies like those of Phyllis Dillon, Dawn Penn or Horace Andy; and funky, soul-drenched horns you’d find from the likes of Tommy McCook or Roland Alphonso. These elements, along with the explosive blues and soul of vocalist Cindy Chi, create a potent mix that attracts big, loyal and diverse crowds.

Originally formed as a studio band for the Axe Records label, The Impalers created tracks for vocalists and instrumentalists and released a number of singles to critical acclaim, including "Darling I Will Stay," which featured Alana Turner, a vocalist from world-renowned Northern Soul outfit The InCiters. Axe Records is also credited for contributing to the launch of the careers of The Aggrolites, a reggae powerhouse from Los Angeles, with the release of their first LP, "Dirty Reggae" in 2003.

Interest in The Impalers grew from a number of successful shows in California, featuring the core rhythm section and a rotating lineup of guest musicians. As the buzz and demand for more live shows grew, they soon realized the studio could no longer hold them and they wanted to do more than back up artists. In 2006 they recruited members to round out and lock in their lineup, which now consists of Cindy Cook (Lead Vocals), David Wiens (Bass) Brent Willson (Guitar, Vocals) Lars Nylander (Organ, Piano, Vocals) Randy Odell (Drums) Jason Boyte (Trumpet, Percussion, Vocals) and Timmy Bailey (Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax, Percussion, Vocals).

This lineup gelled instantly and the band was born. Live shows had new fire and intensity, and crowds reacted immediately. With a lot to say musically, The Impalers went into the studio once more and completed their first full length CD titled "Blood, Rum & Reggae" which features 12 tracks of deep, soulful and infectious reggae.
