Slide follows Greg Aubuchon''s successful 2003 debut release, A Muse. Slide was conceived, recorded, mixed, and mastered between the summer of 2003 and the spring of 2004. All songs were performed by, and with the exception of James Taylor''s Fire and Rain, were written by, Greg Aubuchon.
While it is often popular to inquire into musical influences when assessing an artist''s body of work, outside influences with respect to Slide are minimal at best. With only 2 cds in his private collection and minimal exposure to live music of any type, Greg relies solely on his inner sense of melody and rhythm when constructing his songs. For better or for worse, his music reflects the emotions and desires that drive him to share with others what comes naturally: musical expression.
Simply stated, music is both personal (self-centered) and social. Hence the universal ambition to share one''s musical creations, both in the spirit of self-expression and of fraternal embrace. In light of the above, I sincerely hope you enjoy Slide for the same reasons and for the same purposes that I do. Life is too short; enjoy the music while you can!
