Granian is back with a solo album by singer/songwriter Garen Gueyikian. Live Sessions, recorded in front of almost 30 dedicated fans and Granian Reps at Water Music Studios in New Jersey is as raw and true as it gets. "It has a lot of energy," says Garen. "It is a combination of relaxed singer/songwriter music with a powerful delivery. I tend to hit the guitar harder than most. I do everything I can to allow emotion to come through in the performance and the song. When playing solo, you have to keep yourself together since you are conveying everything on your own. Groove, timing, performance and professionalism- everything is in your hands." It''s these live shows where Garen thrives. "Playing live allows me to make a connection with the audience, to take their energy and feed it into my performance."

"This recording has a very personal and inviting sound for a live session. There''s none of the production sound and no discussion between tracks, which I more often than not find annoying. Garen Gueyikian has an incredible voice. Bold, big, husky and powerful. It draws you in with that power. For a live recording there are very few vocal missteps. At times it reminds me of the incredible feelings evoked when I first heard Ed Kowalczyk on Live''s debut Mental Jewelry. Gueyikian has the same immediate appeal, the same inspiring grace and potential.
The lyrics are intelligent and imaginative and will have you closing your eyes to take in the imagery. The beautiful acoustic guitar weaves in and out of the vocals, flittering and shy at times, powerful and passionate at others. Gueyikian''s guitar style is as appealing as his vocals. A lone guitar might sound sparse and solitary on some recordings, but that is not the case here. He coaxes and cajoles the guitar to create a sound that surrounds and sinks into your senses.
This live recording is a fantastic mixture of raw emotion and bewitching beautiful male vocals. Add in intelligent lyrics, accomplished acoustic guitar and an overall musical power and presence and you''ve got a disc that lets you know the band or artist is outstanding. Granian is ready for a large and adoring audience."
