“The Moment” E.P. is the debut album from the multi-talented, Seattle born musician, Alex Mercier. With an incredible vocal range and powerful guitar and drum solos, Mercier was able to create a fresh mix of pop and rock that is unique to the industry today. Wearing all the hats, Alex wrote, produced, and performed the seven tracks that make up “The Moment.” From beginning to end, the E.P. holds the listeners attention as many dynamic and stylistic changes weave seamlessly from song to song. With a voice that rivals the likes of Robbie Williams and James Blunt and a rock esthetic that evokes Incubus, Alex is a hybrid all his own. Each track takes the listener on a musical journey unique to itself.
Alex utilized his extensive music training effectively by taking an ambitious compositional approach to the E.P giving it a ‘pop music outside the box’ sound. The varied chord structures, beautiful harmonies, and unique sonic blends provide a sound that can be enjoyed by a diverse group of listeners. Alex’s honest lyrics and transparent melodic phrasing lead the songs from start to finish creating an undeniable intimacy between the artist and his instruments as well as with the listener.
The creation of “The Moment” was a journey in itself that truly had its beginnings long before the six-month process of actual recording and engineering took place. It has led Alex to some of the finest musicians and engineers in the Los Angeles area who have been able to provide an incredible opportunity for him to showcase his extraordinary talents.
