Details:
Jesse''s album "New Way To Fly" is the culmination of a couple years of work in various formats. The album is eclectic for this reason, with some tunes being fairly stripped down while others boast full-band arrangements. His recent forays with computer-based recording produced allowed him to really flesh out certain numbers, such as "United States of The Blues" and "Slipstream," while others, notably "Cannonball" and "Everything You Need," were recorded one take, one mic. The result is well-paced and multi-dimensional, with a vibe that will be appreciated by a wide variety of listeners

Jesse Peters was born in Vermont in 1970 and had a musical upbringing, as his mother is a fine vocalist in classical and folk styles. This led directly to his career in music, where he focuses on the guitar. He graduated from The University of The Arts in Philadelphia with a bachelor''s in jazz guitar and a master''s in music teaching. During this time in the city he was actively writing songs and playing them at open mics, leading to a few coffeehouse gigs prior to leaving the city. Jesse''s last stop before returning to the green mountains was Providence RI, where he plied his teaching chops for three years in the Providence Public Schools. While in Providence he also played in Dhamma Collective, a jazz-calypso band, with Brown University graduate student Stephon Alexander. This fine outfit frequently featured great Trinidadian steel pan player Mackie Burnett, one of Alexander''s musical mentors. Today Jesse blends all of these formative experiences into a musical approach that includes different styles but remains focused and accessible. He is flexible enough to play instrumental dinner music one day and jazz-rock with his trio the next. His writing style is similarly broad, with modern groove numbers interspersed with more traditional fingerpicked tunes, and a few rockers thrown in for good measure.
