Kalio Gayo Worldfolk
Inspired by music from from all over the world, the worldfolk of Kalio Gayo is mainly influenced by eastern Europe. The beautiful harmonies, an adventurous banjo, fast rhytms, decorated with some accordion, ensure energetic songs.
Compelling music with a Balkan touch.
Kalio Gayo’s repertoire is cheerful with a melancholical edge. The sounds take you on a trip along various landscapes, distant plains and deep lakes but also to a village square or the warm streets of a metropolis. The lyrics, written in Blabberatsch, a language that nobody can speak but everyone can understand, are little stories about quarreling neighbours, a brave bird, rain after the drought or the return home after a long yourney.
The sound of Kalio Gayo has developed from the bandmembers musical roots, partyfolk and punk. Unpretentious, full of ambition and plans, Kalio Gayo follows het own path. The desire to play never stops, there will allways a story to tell.
