Messaïk is a project in constant evolution, like a reflecting soul, never afraid of searching and questioning itself. This album is a result of well ripened musical ideas which were brought to life by the talents of several Montreal musicians.
The ideas found on 97 Clones (2002) originate from many surprises, unexpected events and even mistakes encountered along the way. The melodies, sounds, timbres and rhythms on the album are, for the most part, born from recording excerpts of instrumental improvisations. This basic material was refined by a fusion of conventional and electronic arrangements which makes Messaïk - 97 Clones an original, eclectic and colorful album. Since then, after a few shows in Montreal and four years of break, Messaïk is working hard on their new material, that will be available soon on CD https://www.tradebit.com.
