Reklis AKA Charles Rekington began his musical endeavor at the young age of 10, when he started showing a particular interest in percussion. After joining the loser squad, he soon received his first instrument: a snare drum. From then on, he rapidly branched out into all forms of rhythmic instruments, and even took time to teach himself to play the piano. He loved all great music, but eventually settled with his favorite genre - hip hop.
He put down the instruments and started focusing on his writing skills, staying up many late nights, composing his own rhymes over familiar industry beats and recording them using a computer and a cheap-ass radio shack microphone. After realizing that the songs he was putting together were better than half of the music on the radio, he started to take his hobby more seriously.
Over the next few years, he went on to make a name for himself in his hometown of Hampton, NH and word spread quickly. It wasn''t until he joined forces with New York battle emcee, Chip City, that his career really took flight. The two worked together to create an album in late 2006 ("Reklis Radio Volume 3") and performed at numerous clubs and bars promoting their work. Volume 3 was an underground hit from NH to NY, but failed to have the impact they were anticipating.
But since that album dropped, the fan base has grown substantially and the new project ("Reklis Radio Volume FOUR") is expected to do great numbers when it drops in the third quarter of 2008.
