ROCK: Roots Rock, BLUES: Swamp Blues

Details:
The Tornotics have been playing together in various incarnations since -believe it or not- 1969 ! Steve Johnny and Tom started out as the Tornados, playing in and around South Bend Indiana, then re-formed as the Narkotics in the Mission district of San Francisco in the late 70’s. They added some new blood with a few new players, including Noam (who cut his teeth in the early 70’s Buffalo NY bar blues scene) on harp.

Inspired by all types of blues, Sun Studio to late 60’s rock, New Orleans second line funk, reggae and old school country, these guys have been playing “Roots” music since long before the term was coined.

Four years back the bug bit again and the boys got together in SF for some reunion jamming. Tom brought along his “bad gene” offspring - son Devin, and Noam called in his childhood pal and ace keyboard player Gary White to fill out the sound. The recordings made of those first reunion jams got everyone so psyched - that plans for follow up sessions where soon penciled in.

The result – what you got here - is what happens when you boil down that odd mix of a funky old Voodoo Stew.

People who are interested in Jimmy Buffett Dr. John Paul Butterfield should consider this download.
