Walt Coleman (Singer,Song Writer,Producer,Bass guitarist)

Walt Coleman lives in Cincinnati, Ohio. Rock solid bass lines and versatile vocals best describe Walt.
A seasoned professional. He began guitar lessons at the age of 8 and switched to bass guitar at the age of 12. At 15 years of age Walt was the lead vocalist and bass player for the The Exotics and was offered a contract from the Legendary Bootsy Collins of Bootsy Phelps and the Complete Strangers. Because he was a minor and he needed to finish high school Walt’s father would not sign the contract. Walt continued to play and hone his craft until he was 18. He joined the US Army and in his spare time he hooked-up with guitarist and military friend Elvis Crumbley and wrote "Fairy tales" and "Love Song(All I need)" which are on his Songs in Transition CD. Walt co-wrote and sang on the 1987 hit by CBS recording artist Micowave entitled “Instant Replay”. He’s played bass on an Eric Gable recording called “Come as you are". He has also played bass for EMI Records recording artists, Blessid Union of Souls. Walt has performed with Reggie Calloway and his group “Destiny” and with Gerald Brown on the Shalamar reunion tour with the song “Loser’s Game” as co-writer and musical director. He also performed lead vocals and bass with Bigg Robb and “Da Problem Solvas”. He recorded a song for Over 25 Records as Mr. Walt, a down south southern soul hit release penned by Bigg Robb (the hype man for the Zapp Band) called “Baby your bathwaters ready”.
Walt has toured Japan and Canada.
Walt’s voice has been heard on commercials for the IRS, United Appeal, Longaberger Baskets and voice-overs for local websites. He has performed on various jingles for Sound Images, Ligosa Studios, RTG Music, Steve Hoskins, and Iocona.
He has been a member of successful local bands such as Blues- U-Can Use, Shakefear, Jam Factor 6, Groove Yard, and Jam Factor (the house band at Jeff Ruby’s (Waterfront) and is currently one of the lead vocalists and bass player for the Airwave band, one of the Top five Wedding Bands in the State of Ohio, Modern Bride, Jan 2006, Jan 2007 and Top 150 Wedding Bands in the Country. A quote from Modern Bride describing the Airwave Bands versatility is their ability to “quickly switch gears from Sinatra to Outkast ”.You can get more info about The Airwave Band at https://www.tradebit.com. Walt was recently involved with producing and co-writing the title track of Dixie Karas’s CD called “Whisper something sweet and Low”.

Self production wise, I have just finished and will release my first Solo effort CD called “Songs in Transition”. It’s a group of old and new songs that have transitioned to what they are today. Good riding music. All with a little help from my friends. Look for it after May 30th, 2008! Thanks and hope to see you around!
